What we collect, and why

This is a brochure website. We do not run contact forms, accounts, or e-commerce, so we do not ask you for personal details. We use two analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used:

  • Google Analytics 4 — loads only if you accept in the cookie banner. When enabled, it sets cookies (_ga and related) and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and interactions like clicking our phone number or email link. This data is processed by Google and may be transferred to servers outside the EU, including the United States.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics — privacy-focused and cookieless. It records aggregate, anonymous traffic data and does not set cookies or identify you, so it runs without requiring consent.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies above, and only after you accept. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so we do not ask on every visit.

Legal basis

For Google Analytics and its cookies, our legal basis is your consent (ePrivacy / GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Cookieless Ahrefs analytics processes no personal data. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below) without affecting your use of the site.

How long we keep data

Aggregate analytics data is retained according to Google's and Ahrefs' standard retention settings. We do not hold a separate database of visitor information.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@melasfunerals.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus.

Managing your consent

You can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link (also in the footer of every page). Withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics from loading and clears its cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our analytics or legal obligations change. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
